NEW CURRICULUM COURSES
JWR Tutoring is happy to announce that we've added self-paced, supplementary ELA courses. Online learning allows you to study on your schedule with the flexibility to complete lessons at your pace. Although weekly lessons are due on Sundays, there are no timed assessments or activities. Students will access pre-recorded lessons, readings, homework assignments, assessments, and more via Canvas. In addition, if students have questions about an assignment or require assistance, our certified teachers are here to help by providing personalized feedback on-demand. Students will receive a certificate of completion at the end of each course. Coursework will require no more than 2 to 3 hours a week to complete.

This course exposes students to a selection of grade-level novels, short stories, and poetry. Students will write narratives and poetry to demonstrate their knowledge of concepts such as plot, character, motive, structure, perspective, figurative language, and more. Work at your own pace. In this course, students learn the basics of how to conduct research for an ELA classroom. Virtual instruction will guide students through choosing a topic, MLA format, in-text citation, appropriate vs. inappropriate sources, and more! In addition to weekly assignments, students will submit a research project, which will be graded and critiqued by a certified teacher. A completion certificate will be awarded once all coursework and assessments are completed with satisfactory scores.
